When a police officer targets their laser gun at your customer’s K40 protected vehicle, the Laser Defusers send a pulsed light signal back to the officer's gun. This signal from the Laser Defusers causes the police laser gun to show an “error” reading instead of showing the vehicle’s speed, buying the driver time to slow down and avoid a ticket.

When K40 Laser Defusers are integrated into the Platinum Series radar detectors, drivers have the option to press the Mute button to switch the Laser Defusers to “receive only” mode at any time. This will cause the Defusers to stop transmitting and allow the officer to obtain the vehicle’s speed (after the driver has had time to slow down, of course). This is particularly useful for advanced users and in states where the use of laser jammers is restricted.

The best and quietest long range police radar detector for speeding ticket protection

A police radar detection system so complete, that you’ll fly down the road surrounded by a virtual forcefield of protection. An installation so discreet, that your friends will ask if it came with your vehicle. That’s the K40 Platinum 360

Directional Awareness

Know exactly where the police are at all times – dual radar receivers provide directional awareness and increased range to keep you protected from radar threats – two discreet LEDs indicate front (left light) or rear (right light) radar, accompanied by an audio alert that states “front” or “rear” as well as the specific band of police radar.

It's invisible!

You'll only know it's there when you need it -- Unlike any other radar detection system or portable radar detector on the market, the K40 Platinum Series 360 is invisible. No plugs, no wires, no unsightly box to compromise the elegance of your automobile's interior, or draw the attention of police or vandals.

Customized for the way you drive

Where do you live? What is your primary driving environment? Urban highways and city streets? Rural roads and low traffic interstates? On the open road, how fast do you typically drive? Who else drives your automobile? The K40 Platinum Series 360 features, some of them noted below, can all be programmed and customized for your automobile and the way you drive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Trying to estimate warning time in an actual mile or feet measurement is impossible since true warning time is influenced by many outside variables that have nothing to do with the radar detector itself.

Sensitivity refers to a radar detector’s ability to pick up police signals at the greatest distance. Selectivity refers to the detector’s ability to filter signals that are not true police signals, yet operate on the same frequencies as police radar.

Speed signs – or speed reading boxes – are radar-based. Radar detectors are not radar jammers. Jamming radar is a federal offense and is prohibited by federal law nationwide.

If a police car is not equipped with a radar or laser gun, a radar detector cannot possibly locate it. Also, if no signal is transmitted when you pass the police car, there won’t be any signals for your detector to receive.

This is a very short transmission signal that allows the user of a radar gun to capture a quick read of a vehicle’s speed prior to setting the gun to another band.

No, we do not. The sale and use of radar jammers has been banned by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) since 1997. The fines for each violation can reach up to $11,000.

Putting tint of any kind on your windshield that contains metal film is essentially like putting a blanket over your radar detector. While radar microwave signals can still travel through fiberglass, plastic, and glass, they cannot penetrate metal.
