Remote Starters & Heated Seats in Newington, CT: A Guide to Winter Comfort

Getting into a cold car is a familiar part of winter in Connecticut. But if your vehicle didn’t come with remote start or heated seats, you don’t have to trade it in to get them.

At Attention To Detail in Newington, we install both upgrades in compatible vehicles. Here are the options, how they work together, and a few things to know before scheduling an installation.

Can a Remote Starter Be Added to My Vehicle?

We install remote starters on compatible vehicles with traditional key ignitions and push-button start. We don’t install them on manual-transmission vehicles, and some European and luxury models aren’t supported.

Give us your vehicle’s year, make, and model, and we’ll check the available options. We confirm compatibility before installation for every product we offer.

Which Remote Starter Should I Choose?

Start with where you park. If your car is right outside your house, your needs may be different from someone whose vehicle sits across a large parking lot at work.

Our Compustar lineup includes:

  • Extended-range remotes for reaching your vehicle from farther away.

  • Two-way remotes that confirm your vehicle has successfully started.

  • DroneMobile smartphone control for operating a compatible system through an app. A subscription is required and is paid directly to DroneMobile.

Two-way confirmation is especially useful when you can’t see the vehicle. Instead of wondering whether it started, you get confirmation on the remote.

You can browse our remote starter options or talk with our team about which features make sense for you.

Can Remote Start Help Defrost My Windshield?

Yes. With the appropriate climate settings left on, remote start gives your heater and windshield defroster time to work before you get inside.

Before shutting off the vehicle, leave the heat set and select windshield defrost when needed for the next morning. As the vehicle warms up, the defroster can help warm the glass and loosen frost. The results depend on the temperature, ice buildup, and how long the vehicle has been running.

You’ll still need to clear remaining snow and ice before driving. Think of remote start as a head start on your morning, not a replacement for the ice scraper.

Can You Add Heated Seats to Cloth Seats?

Yes. We install heated-seat kits beneath both cloth and leather upholstery, so you don’t need to change your interior to add seat heat.

Our kits warm the seat cushion and lower backrest, with high and low settings. The switches are typically mounted in the lower plastic trim on the side of the seat, where they’re easy to reach without taking up space on the dashboard.

The upholstery keeps its existing appearance, with the added controls providing access to the new feature. If you’re planning a leather interior upgrade, we can discuss adding heated seats during that installation as well.

Will the Heated Seats Work With Remote Start?

The aftermarket heated seats we install can warm up during remote start when their switches are left on.

Leave the seat switches on and the cabin heat set before getting out of the vehicle. When you remote-start it later, the heater can warm the cabin while the seat heaters warm the cushion and lower backrest.

That’s the main appeal of installing both: you can get into a vehicle that’s already had time to take the chill off the air and the seats.

If your vehicle already has factory heated seats, ask us how they’ll work with a remote starter. Their operation can differ from the aftermarket kits we install.

Is It Worth Getting Both?

You can install either upgrade on its own. Remote start is useful if you want the cabin warming up before you leave home or work. Heated seats provide direct warmth once you’re seated, with a simple high or low setting.

If both sound useful, pairing them lets you prepare the cabin and seats before stepping outside. We can quote either option or both together, depending on what you want from your vehicle.
